Runs are not just endless waves. Every few minutes the game throws a special event at you, and treasure thieves show up to reward quick reactions.
Timing
An event starts every 4–5 minutes, but never while a boss is alive and never inside a rift arena. The game picks one of the three events at random, excluding the one that happened last. In co-op the host decides and everyone gets the same event and the same reward.
Single-type horde (30 seconds)
For 30 seconds every spawn shares one type. If your move is super effective against it (×1.6 on the type chart), this is your moment to rack up kills, which also helps "defeat N Pokémon of type X" missions. If your partner is weak to that type, play defensively and kite.
Golden hour (30 seconds)
All enemies on screen turn golden: they give double experience and sometimes drop coins. Push aggressively to grab extra level-up cards; it is a great time to finish a move evolution.
Lost Pokémon (escort)
- A lost Pokémon appears. Touch it and it starts following you.
- Lead it to the marker. Enemies can damage it on the way.
- If it faints, or you take longer than 2 minutes, it leaves.
- Success heals half your HP and gives coins and a ticket; one time in five it also joins your collection.
Treasure thieves: Meowth and Gholdengo
One or two treasure thieves appear per run (the first between minute 2 and 4). Usually it is a Meowth loaded with coins; one time in four it is a Gholdengo carrying a ×10 ticket. It runs away and escapes after 15 seconds, so switch to a fast or long-range move and chase it immediately. Speed from the Stride upgrade or a Choice Scarf (held items) helps.

What are mid-run events in PokéSurvivor?

How do I catch the Meowth running away with coins?

Can a lost Pokémon join my team?
Yes. If you escort it to the marker, the reward heals half your HP and gives coins and a ticket, and one time in five the Pokémon joins your collection.
